During our recent visit to the Santa Ana Volcano, we had the incredible opportunity to walk the steep, fertile slopes of El Ángel and meet the man behind the vision, Rafael Jr.

Seeing the operation firsthand—from the meticulous care of the soil to the precision of the processing—completely changed our perspective. Rafael Jr. spent five years studying farms across the region before starting El Ángel, and his commitment to stewardship is evident in every single tree. Having supported his father’s farms for years, Rafael took on El Ángel as a ground-up labor of love, focusing on building something sustainable and of extraordinary quality.

After witnessing the dedication and passion poured into this land, we knew we couldn't just leave those stories behind. We felt a deep responsibility to bring this coffee home and introduce our community to the fruits of Rafael's lifelong mission.
