Tiles & Treats: An Evening of American Mahjong, Coffee & Community in San Clemente

Looking for something a little different to do in San Clemente this fall? Grab a friend, bring your curiosity, and get ready for an evening of American Mahjong, specialty coffee, wine, and good company at High Tide Coffee.

On Tuesday, October 27, from 6–9 PM, High Tide Coffee at 1624 N El Camino Real will host Tiles & Treats, a special pop-up with Bam Bird Brunettes and Caleb & Rose Wine Company. It’s part game night, part social gathering, and very much a San Clemente kind of evening.

Never played Mahjong? That’s totally fine.

Here’s the fun part: you don’t need to know the rules before you walk through the door.

The event offers Learn to Play tables for beginners, with lessons included. Cards, tiles, and mats are provided, so there’s no need to arrive with a Mahjong set tucked under your arm.

Already know your way around the tiles? Choose Open Play and settle in for a few hands with friends—or meet some new people along the way. Experienced players can bring their 2026 NMJL card, or rent one at the event.

Either way, the goal is simple: sit down, learn something new, and enjoy the evening.
